Complex Trauma

My Journey to Recovery

Hallucination

There is one of us that does the job of creating our own safe hiding place, in the form of hallucination. Since Complex Trauma has long taught us that the world is deemed nowhere safe and, that everyone around us is a threat, due to our persistent paranoia, this is a method in dissociating ourselves into another place, being totally isolated from harm’s way. By hallucination, it is a shield of protection to us of whatever places that we go, by merging both the physical realm and the spiritual realm at once. It means that when we are in the room with someone else, we are in another place at the same time.

We would visit into many places, sometimes underground and sometimes above-ground, where the traumatised little ones hide. The sound in this physical realm is then converted into this alternative realm. We could walk onto the street and be in another place, even at home.
